Anouska Hempel Design – the London based studio created by the renowned designer – has just completed a new concept of hotel design aimed at the astute business traveller. La Suite Hotel Next Door, with 16 suites is set behind period facades with minimalist interior aesthetics that will take boutique business hotels to a new level. High tech, tight, tidy – just the business!

La Suite Hotel Next Door greets its guests with a four storey void splice by a blade wall that acts as the spine of the main staircase. The hotel is then arranged around a central courtyard of stone, water, gravel and steel. Light is diffused from above as it funnels to the base of the building creating a serene ambience and sense of space.

The true brilliance of this hotel however, is the individual suites that reflect the ergonomics of a Japanese house. The suites are made up of flexible spaces providing a balance between work and rest where form is allowed to follow function. Sliding and pivoting screens allow the rooms to be transformed into work, rest or sleeping areas. Other facilities such as kitchenettes, bathrooms, WCs and storage are conveniently located off the central spaces.

Platform beds, floating walls and light shelves are complemented by the predominately white, black and raw wood colour scheme. The slick bathrooms continue this theme with backlit mirrors, suspended vanities and solid bathtubs where no detail has not been considered. Work spaces are flanked by a media wall housing the state of the art technology, complete with build in PlayStation consoles.

The ease to transform these multifunction rooms to their desired function will increase the productivity and performance of the travelling business person. This in addition to being set in communal spaces of pure form, colour and light is certain to set this hotel apart from the rest.
